Clean beauty should be non-negotiable!

Each and every day I am taking patients through detox programs addressing their chronic disease, slow metabolism, allergies, hormonal imbalances, poor quality sleep, menstrual issues, skin conditions and so on. I recommend specific food plans to help patients reach their goals while prescribing herbals and nutraceuticals to support their detox process. It would be silly for me not to mention the importance of “how NOT to RE-tox.”

If you are spending money on organic food, high-grade quality supplements, nutritional consultations, acupuncture treatments and functional lab testing all while carving out time to meditate, then the understanding of “clean living” needs to be highly prioritized as well.

I started taking a closer look at what I was putting on my skin after I had been declared in remission from my cancer diagnosis in 2001. However, I was definitely not a pro at reading labels, so I looked for the marketing buzz words like organic, clean and natural. I was a work in progress. Fast forward to about 2008 and I was in “committed relationships” with many high performing, environmentally safe and non-toxic products.

Educating patients that it only takes 26 seconds for a topical applied to the skin to enter the blood stream is always an eye opening statement. It’s why I choose to educate on the importance of clean, non-toxic products for all ages. It is so important to understand that what we put on our largest organ can make a direct impact on our health. What goes on, goes IN!
